The Grove Park Neighborhood or Community is one of Asheville’s most distinguished residential areas bordering downtown Asheville to the North, with Kimberly Avenue as it’s Western border and Town Mountain Road to the East. The Grove Park and Kimberly Avenue neighborhoods were created by developer E.W Grove just over 100 years ago in 1910. His prize creation, the glamorous Grove Park Inn opened on July 12, 1913 after only 11 months and 21 days of construction.
In 1990 the Grove Park neighborhood became the Grove Park Historic District and was listed on the National Historic Register. Today the Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa is considered to be an American treasure, it’s Spa considered as one of the top ten in the world and it’s Donald Ross design golf course to be one of the top 10 courses in North America over 100 years old.
The beauty and elegance of the Grove Park Inn’s surrounding neighborhoods have stood the test of time with their many enviable architectural masterpieces of the Victorian, Tudor and Spanish Colonial styles.
